Spread in the area 274 acres of land, M.S.University of Vadodara is a Feather in the heritage cap of the city. Considered as an architectural marvel, the building was designed by Mr. R.F.Chislom who had virtually re-invented glory of the city. Maharaja Sayajirao III himself was a noted patron of education. He founded this university way back in 1882. Initially known as Baroda College, the building is known for its dome which is the second tallest dome of the country- the first being the Dome of Bijapur.

The construction of the building depicts a fusion of Indian and Byzantine architecture. This iconic E-shaped imposing structure enhances the identity of the city. It is here that Maharshi Aurobindo Gosh served as a Vice Principal and Professor of English. This beautiful Structure is now-a-days known as Faculty of Arts. The university has more than 32000 students on roll with 14 faculties and 96 departments.
